I HAVE MANNEQUINS!!!

So my mom gave me a brilliant idea to call an old friend, Keith McClung, that owns a local marketing and rental company, Crown Marketing and Rentals. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I have a meeting with Keith at 4:00 pm on Wednesday to look through his warehouse of stuff to see if there is anything I can use! :D Therefore, I have mannequins and a t-stand! yay!

It's coming along!

It's crunch time!!!

Okay....well this weekend I ran a lot of errands!! Got half of the plexi I needed because Home Depot ran out. So I'm going to start with the 21 sheets. I got everything I need to hang the first panel too. So that's gonna go up this week!

Second, I have scoured this entire city for freaking bags!!!!!!! I just want white bags one in a large size and one smaller. And I want it to be the kind I can cut the rope handles off and replace with ribbon. Can't find any anywhere. And I haven't found any online the sell less that like 500!!!! Input and help would be appreciated here.

My translucent vellum came last week too so I can start making tags. :D Today I'm also expecting my postcards and business cards to come in the mail. Can't wait to see how they turned out!!

But there is lots and lots more to do. So I made sure I got PLENTY of sleep last night and now I'm hitting the ground running! Not much time left!

Postcard

So here's the first go at my postcard. I think it's gonna be the final go of it too. I know that I'm a design student, but I'm most proud of my photography so I'm letting it do a lot of the work by keeping the design simple. I feel that the simplicity also fits the identity of the store. Very clean and industrial.

Photos!!!

So all my photoshoots are done and pictures are edited. This is realllllllly good news cause now I can knock out some little design elements and get them ordered...like today!

This weekend I also went to Home Depot to talk to them about their plexi glass. The guy that worked with me was VERY helpful!! They only had one 18"x 24" sheet in stock, so they did a store transfer and I should get my 6 test sheets today. He also recommended how to hook them together (S-hook or O-rings) and how to hang them from the ceiling (1/16" wire rope cable and a clamp set). I also told him I would need about 42 sheets so they know how much to order. So that's all worked out. It's just a matter of doing it.

Plexiglass Pricing

So I've been pricing out plexiglass...

The plexi that is 3' x 6' is only .118" thick. That's not even an 1/8 of an inch thick, which will present a problem. That was the $44.87 a sheet one. Now I could get the same size at a thickness of .220" but the price jumps to $79.27 a sheet!!!!! Ridiculous! Now this is just at home depot...

So my other option was to get 42 .093" x 2' x 1.5' sheets and hang them connected like they were full 3' x 6' sheets. These sheets are only $6.97 a sheet saving me over $300!!!! And plus it might solve the bowing issue with the 6' sheets. What do you think?

I also priced out tapcon screws to screw into concrete and those are relatively cheap. Then for my floating shelves I'm only looking at like $20 a piece. So not too bad!!!

On to looking for mannequins and a counter now!
