Winter Break

Well...school starts Monday, and of course everyone assumes they're going to get stuff done on their project during the winter break. Well...I know I didn't. I don't know if everyone else did, but yea...Jessica...not so much. I was working 40 hours weeks over the holiday, stressed out about everything going on in my life, and by the time I was home I was exhausted and didn't feel like working on much of anything. So I'd just watch TV or read a book then pass out. I have even put off work for my freelancing clients (not too bad though). I guess I just really needed a break.

So to make sure I don't let life get in the way of my capstone anymore, I made a game plan:

1. Quit my job! Beth I know you are going to be really excited reading this!! My last day as the part-time manager at Charlotte Russe is Saturday, Jan. 16th!!!!! I'm really excited about it. It was quite liberating to turn in my two-weeks. I know I have been stretching myself too thin, and I really need to focus this last semester so I can graduate with the honors I deserve and feeling good about myself. I don't need the grades from last semester ever again!

2. Make a schedule. I have made a daily schedule for myself since I'm going to have so much free time now (I only have class on Tuesday and Thursdays!!). The schedule is not too planned (no, I didn't plan bathroom breaks or Facebook time), but it does mark out time for me to specifically work on this project and other projects.

3. Quit talking to my "ex" boyfriend. Sounds stupid, I know. But I don't need the additional stress while I'm trying to finish this and graduate. If he wants to come back around and make things right, he can do it. But in the mean time, I'm not playing his roller coaster games. So I quit talking to him until he can figure his crap out! I don't even know if he is my ex. Stupid!

4. Make project deadlines. Today, I am going to sit down and make some project goals and deadlines for this capstone. Real ones! Ones I have to follow!! I refuse to get further behind than I already am.

So that is the condensed version of my game plan. I'll get my deadlines/goals posted when I can. It's a new year and a fresh start! Here's to 2010!!!

120 days until graduation!
